Systems Engineer | General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS)

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS), located in Pittsfield, MA, with a preference for on-site presence. GDMS engineers a diverse portfolio of high-technology solutions, products, and services that enable customers to successfully execute missions across all domains of operation. This role is a vital member of a cross-functional team dedicated to designing, developing, installing, and maintaining integrated electronic security systems that directly support the United States’ strategic deterrence capabilities.

• Type: Full-time (with 9/80 schedule option)
• Location: Pittsfield, MA (Hybrid)
• Pay: $77843–$86358 yearly

• Mission: Design, develop, install, and maintain critical electronic security systems to support national strategic deterrence.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Design: Design integrated electronic security systems for nuclear weapons security programs.
• Develop: Develop integrated electronic security systems that directly support strategic deterrence capabilities.
• Install: Oversee the installation of integrated electronic security systems within the program scope.
• Maintain: Maintain integrated electronic security systems to ensure their ongoing reliability and performance.
• Contribute: Serve as a vital team member supporting the United States’ strategic deterrence capabilities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. U.S. citizenship is required, and the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance within a reasonable timeframe after hire.
• Experience: Early career level. Experience or coursework in requirements analysis and management is preferred.
• Skills: Ability to understand and analyze systems as a whole; strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex system issues; clear understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, theories, and technical standards.
• Bonus: Agile experience. Creative thinking with the ability to multi-task effectively. Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities.
