What You’ll Actually Do
• Perform skilled work at the journeyman level across trades including electrical/electronics, HVAC, and plumbing to maintain County facilities.
• Test, troubleshoot, and evaluate the performance of equipment and complex building systems, such as HVAC controls, security, and fire alarms.
• Install, repair, and maintain electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, controls, and other electrical equipment in various facilities.
• Execute specialized maintenance activities including construction, welding, brazing, soldering, and comprehensive plumbing repairs.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records for preventative maintenance, adhering to Department requirements and State regulations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Mid-career professional with a background in building or plant maintenance work.
• Experience: Two years of experience in building or plant maintenance, demonstrating strong skills in at least one of the following: electrical/electronics, HVAC, or plumbing.
• Skills:
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair complex electrical systems, including wiring, switching devices, and motors.
• Proficiency in maintaining, testing, and evaluating various building systems such as HVAC controls, building automation, security, and fire alarm systems.
• Expertise in using trade-specific tools and testing instruments, including voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges, to diagnose equipment performance.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members, supervisors, and other County departments to identify and resolve problems.
• Capability to use computer systems for recordkeeping, email correspondence, document viewing, and operating building control systems.
• Understanding of occupational hazards and adherence to safety precautions relevant to building, electrical, and mechanical trades.
• Ability to stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally, utilizing proper body mechanics.
• Bonus: Journeyman or Electro/Mechanical trade certification.
