The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time

• Location: West Bloomfield Township, MI (In-person)

• Team: OB_Gyn_W. Bloomfield department, reporting directly to a leader on the Leadership Salary Plan (up to grade M07).
• Mission: To provide essential secretarial and administrative support, ensuring the smooth operation and organizational efficiency of the department.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Software Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Correspondence: Accurately type routine correspondence and forms to support departmental communications.
• File Management: Meticulously maintain departmental files, ensuring organization and easy retrieval of important documents.
• Mail Distribution: Efficiently distribute departmental mail and other materials to appropriate recipients.
• Communication Gatekeeping: Exercise discretion and sound judgment when screening visitors and managing incoming telephone calls.
• Workflow & Standards: Organize your own workload to meet established priorities and deadlines, while making necessary grammatical or spelling changes in correspondence to maintain professional standards.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career. Requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Experience: Demonstrated literacy and practical experience working with Microsoft Software Programs, specifically including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Skills:
• Interpersonal Skills: Necessary to communicate effectively with callers and visitors, providing information with ordinary courtesy and tact.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to effectively distribute departmental mail and other materials.
• Bonus:
• One year of experience within an office setting.
• Previous experience scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars.
