RUST Embedded Software Engineer | General Dynamics Mission Systems

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at General Dynamics Mission Systems, located in Dedham, MA. General Dynamics Mission Systems engineers a diverse portfolio of high-technology solutions, products, and services that empower customers to successfully execute missions across all domains of operation. This role contributes to making the world’s most advanced Cybersecurity and Encryption products even smarter. You will be developing mission-critical, NSA-certified Cybersecurity devices using custom, in-house built hardware.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop mission-critical, NSA-certified Cybersecurity devices using custom, in-house built hardware.
• Contribute to a rapidly growing product line at the cutting edge of Cybersecurity and high-speed data.
• Translate CONOPS, Specifications, or Requirements into software design, code, and test plans.
• Execute testing and debugging for software designs and code.
• Define the scope, schedule, and expectations for assigned work.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics field. This is a mid-career level role.
• Experience: 2+ years of job-related experience (or Master’s degree and 6 months of job-related experience). Agile experience is preferred.
• Skills: Actual RUST development language experience, Real-Time multi-threaded Embedded software (preferably on Linux OS), Object-Oriented design and programming (preferably in UML and RUST), proficiency with software tools (Integrated Development Environments, version control, defect tracking, scripting), Department of Defense SECRET security clearance required at time of hire.
• Bonus: Model-based development (preferably Rhapsody), familiarity with C and C++, experience with long development lifecycles and product lifespans, ARM virtualization extensions (preferably Hypervisor), Hypervisor Technology, Linux, Rhapsody, UML, Device drivers.
