Junior Auditor Intern
We are a small CPA firm in the Bronx, New York, known for our tight-knit and competent staff. We are actively seeking an objective, highly skilled Junior Auditor Intern to join our team.
About the Internship
This Internship position offers candidates a valuable opportunity to gain on-the-job training and practical experience directly related to the Auditing career field. Interns will start part-time, with the potential opportunity for a full-time position upon successful completion and firm needs.
Preferred Experience (A Plus)
- Experience working on audits, reviews, and/or compilations in a CPA firm.
- Expertise in using CaseWare/PPC SMART Practice Aids (or similar engagement software).
Responsibilities
- Conduct assigned audits and other assurance engagements successfully from start to finish, adhering strictly to applicable professional standards.
- Prepare planning documents and perform an overall risk assessment of assigned clients.
- Perform internal control testing procedures.
- Obtain and review audit evidence, ensuring that all audit conclusions are thoroughly documented.
- Identify and communicate issues discovered during engagements and propose effective solutions.
- Prepare financial statements, footnotes, and any supplemental information.
- Communicate assigned tasks to the engagement team clearly and concisely to ensure high-quality, accurate, and efficient results.
- Actively participate in learning and development opportunities, formal learning (CPE), and training programs.
Qualifications
- Must be actively enrolled in a degree program in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Must maintain good academic standing.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, planning, organizing abilities, and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Good communication skills (listening, verbal, written).
- Authorized to work in the US.
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of Pivot Tables is a must.
