Automotive Service Porter | Roush Equipment Inc
The Tone:
This is a full-time, entry-level role at Roush Equipment Inc, located in Westerville, OH. Roush Equipment Inc operates as a HIGH PERFORMANCE, nationally-recognized Honda dealership. This Automotive Service Porter position is critical for improving the overall efficiency of the service drive and service shop operations, providing essential support to service advisors and the management team. The role ensures the dealership maintains a high level of organization and cleanliness, offering an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within a leading automotive environment.
The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Type: Monday – Thursday from 2 PM – 10 PM, and alternating Friday & Saturday from 8 AM – 6 PM
• Location: In-person, Westerville, OH
• Mission: This role ensures the efficient operation of the service drive and service shop by providing essential support to advisors and management, maintaining organization, and assisting customers through vehicle handling and minor maintenance tasks.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Customer Welcome & Vehicle Preparation: Warmly greet arriving customers in the service drive and prepare their vehicles for service by applying protective floor and seat coverings.
• Vehicle Movement & Organization: Effectively communicate with Roush teammates, valet customer vehicles to designated parking areas, and organize the inventory of company-owned rental vehicles.
• Minor Mechanical Services: Perform essential minor mechanical repair diagnostics such as tire pressure checks, battery tests, checking and filling fluids as needed, and replacing windshield wiper inserts and light bulbs.
• Facility Upkeep: Execute routine cleaning tasks within both the service drive and service shop areas, ensuring a tidy and professional environment.
• Logistics & Support: Complete car washes on customer and company-owned vehicles, handle pick-up and drop-off of customer vehicles when required, complete parts inventory purchases at local dealerships, transfer inventory between locations, and participate in deep clean projects with the maintenance team.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level position requiring excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Experience: Possession of a valid driver’s license with less than 4 points and no history of reckless driving; ideally 18 years of age.
• Skills: Physical capability to perform tasks such as driving, prolonged standing, frequent walking, and working in varied inclement weather conditions; effective communication skills; consent to a background check and drug screening.
