The Role & Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer on the AI Platform team, you will be a key contributor, driving technical excellence and innovation. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance microservices and APIs for our core AI platform, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, machine learning engineers, and product managers to understand their infrastructure needs and translate them into robust, production-ready software solutions.
• Implement and optimize complex data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and serving large datasets, which are critical for AI model training, evaluation, and real-time inference.
• Develop and enhance tools and frameworks to streamline the entire MLOps lifecycle, including model versioning, automated deployment, performance monitoring, and experimentation platforms.
• Ensure the reliability, security, and optimal performance of the platform through rigorous testing, comprehensive code reviews, and active participation in on-call rotations.
• Mentor junior engineers, share best practices, and actively contribute to a culture of continuous learning, technical growth, and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Evaluate, prototype, and integrate new technologies and architectural patterns to enhance the capabilities, efficiency, and scalability of our AI infrastructure.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions, helping shape the future direction of our AI platform.

Who You Are & Qualifications

We are looking for a passionate and experienced engineer with a strong track record of building robust software systems. To be successful in this role, you should possess:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a significant focus on backend systems, distributed systems, or platform engineering.
• Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, or C++. Python is highly preferred for this role due to its prevalence in the AI/ML ecosystem.
• Demonstrable experience with major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and a strong understanding of cloud-native architecture.
• Solid experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration systems (Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts, microservices architecture, and API design principles (RESTful, gRPC).
• Experience with various database technologies (both SQL and NoSQL, e.g., PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Redis).
• Familiarity with data streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis) and big data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark) is a significant advantage.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) or MLOps tools and practices is a strong plus.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a highly collaborative team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
