What You’ll Actually Do
• Design and deploy robust, scalable, and high-performance backend services and APIs using modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, front-end engineers, and other stakeholders to define requirements and deliver features.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions, ensuring the long-term maintainability, scalability, and security of systems.
• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback to peers, and mentor junior engineers.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and optimize existing systems for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, with a deep understanding of backend software development principles.
• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development, including building and consuming microservices, working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Skills: Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language (Python, Go, Java, Node.js, C#), extensive experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis), solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, distributed systems, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Bonus: Experience with message queues and event streaming platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS), familiarity with GraphQL APIs, experience with performance testing and optimization tools, knowledge of security best practices in web application development, contributions to open-source or personal projects, and experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
