Job Description: Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care for patients and their families, adhering to established standards and practices. This role is integral to our healthcare team, focusing on patient advocacy, quality care, and continuous professional development.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • 2-year / Associate Degree in Nursing from a state-accredited school (Required)
    • 4-year / Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
  • Work Experience:
    • 1+ years Nursing Experience (Preferred)
  • Licenses and Certifications (Required):
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Registered Nurse (RN) with current Georgia license

Essential Functions

Standards of Nursing Practice

  • Provide professional standards in practicing nursing.
  • Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or the situation.
  • Analyze assessment data to determine the diagnosis or issues.
  • Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient and the situation.
  • Develop a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives for expected outcomes.
  • Implement the identified plan.
  • Evaluate the progress toward attainment of outcomes.

Standards of Professional Performance

  • Provide assistance to patients and visitors when administering care.
  • Enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
  • Attain knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice.
  • Interact with and contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
  • Collaborate with the patient, family, and others in the conduct of nursing practice.
  • Provide leadership in the professional practice setting.
  • Maintain confidentiality.

RN – Leadership

  • Direct the coordination of care across settings and among caregivers.

Care Planning and Implementation

  • Develop an individualized plan with strategies that address diagnoses.

  • Implement the plan in a safe and timely manner.
  • Document implementation and include changes or omissions of the identified plan.
  • Consult with healthcare providers and make referrals as appropriate.
  • Utilize appropriate community resources and systems to implement the plan.

Care Processes

  • Treat patients and families with compassion and implement the plan of care.
  • Base care decisions on the plan of care.
  • Monitor and document patient response.
  • Establish rapport with clients.
  • Adapt communication style, listen and respond to patient needs.
  • Recognize age-specific responses to treatment.
  • Provide effective interventions.
  • Respect patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Support social, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients and families.
  • Manage difficult or emotional patient situations.

Documentation

  • Document and submit required information and data in a timely fashion.
  • Clearly and accurately document designated processes, policies, products, service offerings, etc.
  • Ensure that documentation is tailored to expected readers/users.
  • Use correct terminology.
  • Conform to required style and format.

Additional Duties

  • Adhere to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
  • Perform all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission, and vision of the organization.
  • Perform other duties as required and complete all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs).
  • Attend staff meetings and complete mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
  • Demonstrate competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
  • For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age-specific customer service skills.
  • Wear protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
