Job Description

Internship – Commercial Lines Division

Position Summary:

As an Intern in the Commercial Lines Division, you will be responsible for providing essential administrative support to the Commercial Lines department. Your primary role will involve assisting with various tasks crucial to the division’s daily operations.

Examples of tasks include:

  • Answering phones
  • Delivering bonds
  • Retrieving, sorting, and delivering mail
  • Processing commercial lines policies
  • Providing additional data entry support to Commercial Lines CSRs and Marketers

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing renewal policies for accuracy, updating the agency management system accordingly, and preparing those policies for customer delivery.
  • Providing administrative support to other team members, including processing change requests, endorsements, Illinois state verifications, and other data entry responsibilities.
  • Providing backup support on the main phone lines as needed.
  • Providing backup support for retrieving, sorting, and delivering incoming mail.
  • Delivering urgent bonds to designated clients when required.
  • Performing other duties as required to support the Commercial Lines Division.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Prior work experience with Excel, Word, and related software is preferred.
  • A Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving history is required.

Skills:

  • Demonstrate a high level of organizational and communication skills, including the ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks and establish priorities effectively.
  • Possess a good level of ability with Word, Excel, and related software.
  • May be required to work earlier or later than the normal workday to meet departmental needs.
