• Mission: Ensure optimal surface profiles on steel structures for effective coating adhesion, contributing to the durability of naval ships.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Train: Undergo comprehensive training in surface preparation techniques, covering the safe use, maintenance, and operation of company-provided blast equipment.
• Operate: Operate blast equipment to create an optimal profile on steel structures.
• Prepare: Ensure proper adhesion of coating treatments to metal surfaces.
• Execute: Perform blast operations safely and effectively in challenging environments such as tanks, voids, and at elevated heights utilizing staging, scaffolding, and lifting equipment.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Ability to undergo comprehensive training in surface preparation techniques provided by the company.
• Experience: Entry-level position requiring physical capability to perform kneeling, squatting, crawling, bending, stooping, climbing, and lifting at least 40 pounds daily. Must be able to perform overhead work and be clean shaven to properly wear a respirator.
• Skills: Capability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions, at extreme heights, and in small, tight, confined spaces. Must have flexibility to work any shift to accommodate production needs.
