In this role, you will be a vital contributor to our power delivery group, specializing in the design and engineering of high-voltage transmission and distribution lines for a diverse portfolio of electric utilities and renewable energy clients.
You will collaborate within multidisciplinary project teams, taking ownership of developing crucial design documents, comprehensive specifications, and detailed drawings for both wood and steel pole structures. A key aspect of your work will also involve performing precise foundation design and calculations to ensure structural integrity.
The ideal candidate for this position is a proactive problem solver with strong technical skills, possesses a collaborative mindset, and demonstrates an eager willingness to learn. You are expected to thrive in a high-energy environment, maintain a client-focused approach, and exhibit initiative and adaptability in consistently meeting project goals.

- Software and Documentation: Effectively use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and other essential engineering tools to document work, communicate efficiently with teams, and manage project data.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with experienced engineers and project managers within a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment that highly values initiative, teamwork, and continuous professional growth.

This position is classified as exempt (salaried) under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
- Hybrid Work Arrangement: A hybrid work arrangement, splitting time between a Barr office and a home office, may be considered for this position. This role is primarily based out of Barr’s Minneapolis, Minnesota, office.
- Travel Expectations: Expect up to 15 percent domestic fieldwork, typically involving an average of two to three days of continuous job site presence per assignment.
- Work Environment: Ability to work in locations that may feature rough terrain typical of construction/manufacturing/rural outdoor sites with limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions common to industrial facilities. Candidates must be able to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
