Job Description

Engagement and Outreach Internship – College to County Intern 2026 Health Department

This internship opportunity is for an Engagement and Outreach Intern within the Health Department, specifically supporting the Student Health Center (SHC) program’s School and Community Engagement (SCE) Team.

About the Student Health Center (SHC) Program

The Student Health Center (SHC) program operates clinics in nine high schools across five school districts in Multnomah County. Its mission is to facilitate access to comprehensive preventive, primary, behavioral, and mental health care for school-age youth (ages 5-18) who live or attend school in Multnomah County. The program collaborates with school and community partners to promote holistic health (whole community, whole school, and whole child) and actively empowers youth voice through Student Health Action Councils at its high school SHC sites.

This internship specifically supports the School and Community Engagement (SCE) Team by assisting with communications and marketing efforts. The goal is to disseminate crucial information about the clinics and health resources to increase utilization of services among families and participating school districts.
