ENGINEERING ASSISTANT INTERN | Ardaman & Associates, Inc.

The Tone:
This is a temporary, part-time internship at Ardaman & Associates, Inc., located in New Orleans, LA. Ardaman & Associates, Inc. is a leading geotechnical engineering and materials testing consulting firm, serving a wide array of public and private clients across industrial, commercial, and infrastructure sectors throughout the Southeastern U.S. This role offers hands-on experience by supporting staff engineers, working in a soils laboratory, and potentially participating in fieldwork, contributing directly to the firm’s diverse project portfolio.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Assist staff engineers with various assigned tasks.
• Test: Conduct work within the soils laboratory.
• Observe: Participate in potential fieldwork by logging on the drill crew.
• Monitor: Engage in potential fieldwork activities such as pile driving monitoring.
• Execute: Perform load testing and other related fieldwork duties as opportunities arise.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in a recognized civil engineering Bachelor’s Degree program.
• Experience: Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
• Skills: Strong abilities in mathematics, sciences, computers and appropriate software, and data and file organization.
• Bonus: Preferably pursuing an emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering and demonstrating an energetic approach.
