About the Opportunity: Human Resources Specialist
We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Specialist to serve as the primary point of contact for all general HR inquiries. This pivotal role involves managing the daily workflow of HR service tickets, providing crucial support to employees with questions ranging from benefits and paid time off (PTO) to personal information updates and employment verifications. The HR Specialist will play a significant part in enhancing overall HR efficiency through proactive process improvements and automation initiatives, ensuring the timely and effective delivery of high-quality HR services.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently manage Tier 0 and Tier 1 HR inquiries using a dedicated ticketing system.
- Assign and meticulously track HR tickets to ensure prompt and complete resolution.
- Continuously monitor the ticket queue for prompt handling, accurate categorization, and escalation when necessary.
- Provide clear and concise responses to employee questions regarding benefits, PTO, personal information updates, and employment verifications.
- Offer comprehensive information and guidance on HR policies and processes.
- Accurately update and maintain employee data within the HRIS system, specifically UKG Pro.
- Proactively identify recurring issues and collaborate on innovative automation solutions.
- Propose and implement process improvements designed to reduce manual workload and enhance overall service delivery.
- Work closely with HR leadership to prioritize and execute automation projects effectively.
- Collaborate seamlessly with HR Generalists, Analysts, and other departments to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Serve as a vital liaison between employees and the broader HR team to facilitate effective communication.
- Maintain and regularly update HR documentation and the internal knowledge base.
- Apply critical thinking skills to resolve complex employee issues efficiently and empathetically.
- Utilize performance metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in HR service.
- Deliver courteous, solution-focused support through professional and empathetic communication.
- Anticipate employee needs and provide tailored guidance and support.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in HR service delivery, support, or administration, with a preference for experience in healthcare or multi-state environments.
- Experience with ticketing systems such as Zoho Service Desk is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required; a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Proven experience with benefits administration, PTO management, and employment verifications.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and a commitment to accurate data management.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain organization in a remote work setting.
- Possesses high integrity and maintains strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee data.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and states.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in women’s healthcare or related fields.
- Knowledge of Leave of Absence (LOA) support and state-specific HR laws is a significant plus.
