The Tone:
This is a contract role at Varsity Tutors, located remotely. Varsity Tutors operates a Live Learning Platform designed to transform how people learn through advanced technology, AI, and learning science. Tutors on the platform make a real impact on students’ scores and test readiness by creating personalized learning experiences. The role focuses on helping students achieve their learning goals through customized instruction.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Deliver: Provide personalized 1-on-1 online instruction to individual SAT Math students.
• Teach: Instruct students on advanced SAT Math topics, including algebra, geometry, statistics, and complex numbers.
• Guide: Lead students through strategic problem-solving techniques, time management, and various solution pathways for SAT Math questions.
• Adapt: Tailor teaching methods to meet individual student learning needs, identify common struggles, and conduct targeted drills.
• Process: Invoice for completed tutoring sessions, with payments handled by the platform up to twice per week.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Achieved a minimum SAT Math score of 720 and possesses deep knowledge of all SAT Math topics, including linear equations, functions, ratios, data interpretation, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Experience: Proven track record helping students significantly improve their math subscores, coupled with familiarity with SAT Math question distribution and common traps.
• Skills: Strategic problem-solving and reasoning (e.g., teaching multiple solution pathways, estimation); test strategy and adaptive instruction (e.g., error analysis, formula sheet creation); strong communication and an engaging teaching style.
