What You’ll Actually Do
• Provide personalized online math instruction to individual elementary school students from grades one through five.
• Explain fundamental math concepts, including number sense, operations, basic fractions, decimals, and introductory geometry.
• Break down complex topics like multi-digit operations and word problems using hands-on manipulatives, drawings, and visual models.
• Guide students through counting strategies, place value understanding, and fact fluency to build strong arithmetic foundations.
• Utilize the AI-powered Tutor Copilot for real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features, saving prep time.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Advanced subject mastery in elementary math concepts for grades one through five.
• Experience: Proven ability to effectively explain counting strategies, regrouping, and fact fluency, while establishing strong arithmetic foundations essential for upper elementary and middle school readiness. Familiarity with elementary math standards for grades one through five.
• Skills: Profound knowledge of fundamental math concepts including number sense, place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, basic fractions and decimals, measurement, time, money, geometry shapes, patterns, and introductory data interpretation. Skilled at breaking down complex topics like multi-digit operations and fraction concepts, using hands-on manipulatives, drawings, and visual models. Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style, with the ability to adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
• Bonus: Ability to emphasize discovery-based learning and connect mathematical concepts to everyday contexts like cooking, shopping, and telling time.
