The company operates a Live Learning Platform leveraging advanced technology and AI to create personalized learning experiences. This role is crucial for transforming how elementary students learn math, providing customized instruction that helps them achieve academic success and cultivate a passion for learning.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Tutoring: Provide personalized 1-on-1 online math instruction to elementary school students.
• Platform Utilization: Leverage the purpose-built Live Learning Platform and AI-powered Tutor Copilot to enhance session effectiveness and save prep time.
• Scheduling: Create and manage your own flexible tutoring schedule, determining how much or how little you tutor.
• Logistics: Simply invoice for your tutoring sessions, as Varsity Tutors handles all payment processing.
• On-Demand Tutoring: Accept instant tutoring requests whenever you are available to connect with students.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Deep knowledge of elementary math concepts (grades one through five), including number sense, place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, basic fractions and decimals, measurement, time, money, geometry, patterns, and introductory data interpretation.
• Experience: Proven ability to explain counting strategies, regrouping, and fact fluency while building strong arithmetic foundations, and skilled at breaking down complex concepts using manipulatives, drawings, and visual models. Familiarity with elementary math standards and common student challenges in math is also required.
• Skills: Advanced subject mastery in elementary math, conceptual teaching and problem-solving abilities, curriculum awareness and adaptive instruction, strong communication skills, and an engaging teaching style to meet individual learning needs.
