The Tone:
This is a contract role at Varsity Tutors, located remotely. Varsity Tutors aims to revolutionize learning by integrating advanced technology, AI, and learning science to create highly personalized learning experiences. This role is crucial for significantly impacting students’ SAT Math scores and overall test readiness, offering tutors the flexibility to manage their own schedules while contributing to improved educational outcomes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Instruction: Provide personalized, in-depth 1-on-1 online instruction to individual students.
• Support: Offer immediate support by accepting on-demand tutoring requests whenever available.
• Enhancement: Utilize the AI-powered Tutor Copilot for real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engaging features.
• Scheduling: Set and manage your own flexible tutoring hours, choosing to tutor as much or as little as desired.
• Invoicing: Invoice for tutoring sessions, with Varsity Tutors handling all payment logistics to ensure prompt compensation.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Advanced knowledge of all SAT Math topics, including linear equations, systems, inequalities, algebraic expressions, quadratic functions, exponential growth, ratios, percentages, data interpretation, statistics, geometry, trigonometry, and complex numbers.
• Experience: A minimum SAT Math score of 720 and a proven track record of significantly helping students improve their math subscores.
• Skills:
• Deep content mastery of all SAT Math topics, including the ability to clearly explain calculator-permitted versus no-calculator strategies and grid-in answer formatting.
• Ability to teach strategic problem-solving, emphasizing multiple solution pathways, estimation techniques, pattern recognition, and effective time management across all 58 questions.
• Proficiency in SAT test strategy, including familiarity with question distribution, common traps, error analysis, formula sheet creation, and targeted drills for student weak areas.
• Adaptable and engaging teaching style, capable of identifying common student struggles and explaining material using multiple approaches to meet individual learning needs.
