This role is vital for empowering elementary students to excel in math, offering customized instruction that enhances academic success, deepens subject understanding, and cultivates a passion for learning.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Deliver Instruction: Provide personalized 1-on-1 online tutoring to individual elementary school students in math, with the option to accept on-demand instant tutoring requests whenever available.
• Explain Concepts: Skillfully break down complex elementary math concepts such as multi-digit operations, fraction concepts, and word problems using hands-on manipulatives, drawings, and visual models. Guide students through essential skills like skip counting, place value understanding, basic geometric reasoning, and measurement conversions, connecting math to everyday contexts.
• Adapt Teaching: Adjust instructional methods, materials, and pace, utilizing tools like base-ten blocks, fraction strips, games, and multi-sensory approaches, to effectively support young learners at varying developmental readiness levels and meet individual learning needs and styles.
• Utilize Tools: Leverage the AI-powered Tutor Copilot to enhance tutoring sessions with real-time instructional support, generate lessons, and implement engagement features, thereby saving preparation time and allowing for a greater focus on impactful teaching.
• Manage Schedule: Create your own flexible work schedule, tutoring as much or as little as desired, and simply invoice for completed sessions to receive reliable compensation paid up to twice per week.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess advanced subject mastery and deep knowledge of elementary math concepts, including number sense, place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, basic fractions and decimals, measurement, time, money, geometry shapes, patterns, and introductory data interpretation.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to explain counting strategies, regrouping, and fact fluency while building strong arithmetic foundations for upper elementary and middle school readiness. Experienced in breaking down multi-digit operations, fraction concepts, and word problems using hands-on manipulatives, drawings, and visual models.
• Skills: Familiar with elementary math standards for grades one through five and common challenges such as regrouping in subtraction, understanding fractions as parts of a whole, and memorizing multiplication facts. Proficient at identifying concepts students commonly struggle with, explaining material using multiple approaches, and adapting instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles, alongside strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
