What You’ll Actually Do
• Instruct: Provide personalized, one-on-one online instruction to individual students, or accept on-demand instant tutoring requests, utilizing the Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform.
• Guide: Guide students through advanced mathematical concepts like polynomial long division, logarithmic equation solving, trigonometric identity verification, and statistical inference with confidence intervals, emphasizing mathematical modeling and real-world applications.
• Prepare: Prepare students for advanced academic challenges, including precalculus, AP Mathematics courses, SAT, and college mathematics placement and coursework.
• Adapt: Adapt instructional methods by using graphing technology, data analysis projects, and cumulative review strategies to support diverse learning styles and individual student needs.
• Invoice: Invoice for your tutoring sessions conducted, ensuring fast and reliable compensation for your work.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess advanced subject mastery in Math 3 topics, including deep knowledge of polynomial, rational, logarithmic, exponential, and trigonometric functions and identities, along with statistics (normal distributions, inference), and geometric modeling with volume and cross-sections. Familiarity with Integrated Math 3 curricula and Common Core standards is essential.
• Experience: Demonstrated skill in conceptual teaching and problem-solving, capable of breaking down complex topics like polynomial long division, logarithmic equation solving, and trigonometric identity verification. Proven ability to guide students through mathematical modeling, analyze function behavior, and prepare them for advanced academic courses such as precalculus, AP Mathematics, SAT, or college-level coursework.
• Skills: Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style, with the ability to identify common student challenges. Adept at explaining material using multiple approaches and adapting instruction to meet diverse individual learning needs and styles.
