What You’ll Actually Do
• Instruct: Deliver personalized 1-on-1 online tutoring sessions covering a wide range of discrete mathematics topics.
• Explain: Articulate complex concepts such as mathematical induction, proof techniques, and modular arithmetic using clear and diverse methods.
• Guide: Lead students through challenging problem-solving, including combinatorial counting, graph theory, and recurrence relations, emphasizing logical reasoning.
• Adapt: Customize instruction by employing various tools like truth tables, Venn diagrams, and visual graph representations to suit individual learning styles.
• Support: Prepare students for advanced coursework in computer science theory, cryptography, and higher mathematics at the undergraduate level.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess deep knowledge of core discrete mathematics topics including logic, set theory, combinatorics, graph theory, number theory, recurrence relations, Boolean algebra, algorithms, and formal languages.
• Experience: Skilled at breaking down proof construction, guiding students through challenging problems, and familiar with standard discrete mathematics curricula and common student challenges.
• Skills: Strong communication skills; a friendly, engaging teaching style; ability to identify student struggles and explain concepts using multiple approaches; proficient in adapting instruction to individual learning needs.
