What You’ll Actually Do
• Instruction: Provide personalized, in-depth instruction to individual students on core AP Environmental Science topics using the Live Learning Platform.
• Preparation: Prepare students effectively for the AP Environmental Science examination by addressing the curriculum and common student challenges.
• Analysis: Guide students through the analysis of environmental case studies, interpretation of water quality and air pollution data, and evaluation of sustainability proposals.
• Calculation: Break down ecological calculations, including species diversity indices, population growth models, and energy transfer efficiency for student understanding.
• Adaptation: Adapt instruction using real-world field study examples, current environmental news, and AP-style practice questions to support students with varying science backgrounds and interdisciplinary learning needs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Deep knowledge of core AP Environmental Science topics, including ecosystems, biodiversity, population ecology, land and water use, energy resources, atmospheric pollution, climate change, and environmental policy, as outlined in the AP framework.
• Experience: Proven capability to effectively prepare students for the AP Environmental Science examination. Familiarity with the AP Environmental Science curriculum across its nine units and common student challenges, such as calculating ecological footprints, distinguishing point from nonpoint pollution, and analyzing free-response data.
• Skills:
• Ability to explain complex concepts such as biogeochemical cycles, trophic dynamics, renewable energy systems, and environmental legislation.
• Skilled at breaking down ecological calculations and guiding students through data analysis and evaluation.
• Aptitude for systems thinking, connecting environmental science to public health, urban planning, and international policy.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style, with the capacity to adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
