What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead Development: Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex software features and services across the platform, from concept to deployment.
• Ensure Quality Code: Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and testable code, strictly adhering to best practices and architectural guidelines.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other engineering teams to define requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
• System Optimization & Mentorship: Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems to optimize performance and address technical debt, while mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
• Strategic Influence: Contribute to the technical vision and strategy, influencing technology choices and architectural decisions, and staying current with emerging technologies.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, indicating readiness for a Senior Software Engineer position.
• Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on backend or full-stack development. This includes extensive experience with relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases, and demonstrated ability to design and build scalable APIs (RESTful, GraphQL) and microservices on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Skills: Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Java, Go, C#, or Node.js), a strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and software design patterns. Solid grasp of testing methodologies (unit, integration, end-to-end), excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts.
• Bonus: A Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, or prior experience in an Agile/Scrum environment. Contributions to open-source or personal projects, experience with real-time data processing, large-scale distributed systems, or knowledge of frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) are also a plus.
