What You’ll Actually Do
• Design & Development: Lead the design, development, and implementation of highly scalable, reliable, and secure backend services and APIs using modern programming languages and frameworks.
• System Architecture: Contribute to and evolve the microservices architecture, ensuring robustness, performance, and maintainability of systems.
• Code Quality & Optimization: Write clean, efficient, well-tested, and well-documented code, participating in code reviews, and identifying performance bottlenecks to optimize database queries.
• Collaboration & Integration: Work closely with product managers, frontend engineers, data scientists, and DevOps teams to define requirements, integrate solutions, and deploy features.
• Mentorship & Support: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, foster team growth, and participate in on-call rotations for production support and issue resolution.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Senior level professional with a strong track record in backend software development.
• Experience: 5+ years building and launching scalable systems, with deep proficiency in Go, Java, or Python and associated frameworks. Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices architectures, and RESTful API design.
• Skills: Expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases for schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning; hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, and related services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and Kubernetes; excellent grasp of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design principles, and various testing methodologies including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential.
• Bonus: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, familiarity with message brokers like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS, experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, knowledge of system monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog), prior technical leadership or mentoring experience, and a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
