The Tone:
This is a contract role at Elk Grove Unified School District (EGUSD), located in Elk Grove, CA. • Mission: To instruct JROTC students, preparing them for college, career, and life by developing skills in creative problem-solving, self-reliance, technical literacy, communication, collaboration, and community engagement.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Deliver: Provide comprehensive instruction within the JROTC program, aligning with established curriculum standards and district educational goals.
• Integrate: Weave career-based learning and real-world workplace experiences into the JROTC curriculum, offering practical applications of academic knowledge.
• Cultivate: Equip students with essential skills to develop as creative problem solvers, self-aware, self-reliant, self-disciplined individuals, and technically literate citizens.
• Empower: Guide students to become effective communicators, strong collaborators, and engaged members of the community who act with integrity.
• Contribute: Actively support the district’s overarching commitment that “Every Student is Learning, in Every Classroom, in Every Subject, Every Day to Prepare College, Career and Life Ready Graduates.”

The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold an accredited 4-year degree and possess prior military experience as an officer or warrant officer, bringing relevant leadership and discipline to the JROTC program.
• Experience: Be USACC Certified, demonstrating specialized training and qualification specifically for JROTC instruction, ensuring adherence to program standards.
• Skills: Possess a Designated Subjects Special Subjects Reserve Officer Training Corps Credential, a valid CA ROTC Credential (or proof of eligibility), and authorization for teaching English Learners at the time of hire, to support diverse student populations effectively.
