What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead the design and implementation of highly scalable, reliable, and secure microservices and APIs using modern engineering practices.
• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, from concept to deployment, with a primary focus on backend systems.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and champion best practices.
• Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues, ensuring the platform handles increasing load and complexity.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality features.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Senior-level Software Engineer with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Emphasis on backend systems and platform development.
• Experience: 5+ years of professional software development experience, focusing on backend systems and platform development. Solid experience designing and building distributed systems, microservices architectures, and RESTful APIs, along with hands-on experience with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Skills: Proficient in at least one modern backend language such as Go, Java, Python, or Node.js. Expertise with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills. Strong communication abilities for articulating complex technical concepts.
• Bonus: Experience with event-driven architectures and message queues (e.g., Kafka). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Experience with gRPC and Protocol Buffers. Contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio of personal projects. Prior experience in an agile environment.
