Business Intelligence Analyst Intern | SAIC

The Tone:
This is a paid internship opportunity at SAIC, located in Richmond, VA. SAIC offers challenging experiences for college students pursuing majors in business, analytics, or related fields. This role provides invaluable hands-on experience in business intelligence, data analysis, and process improvement within IT environments. Interns will receive mentorship and training to prepare for successful entry-level roles in data-driven decision-making.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Support the collection, analysis, and visualization of business data to drive actionable insights and enhance decision-making processes.
• Collaborate: Collaborate effectively with the team to design and implement effective dashboards, comprehensive reports, and robust data-driven solutions.
• Assist: Assist in the meticulous analysis and continuous improvement of business processes by leveraging Business Intelligence (BI) tools and methodologies.
• Utilize: Utilize and diligently maintain data acquisition, transformation, and reporting systems within a complex IT environment.
• Assist: Assist in the development and refinement of Change Management processes to significantly enhance efficiency and ensure the seamless adoption of new data-driven tools and strategies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with an anticipated graduation in May of 2027, with a strong record of academic achievement, in business, analytics, or related fields.
• Experience: Must be a US citizen and possess the ability to obtain a security clearance. Must reside in the Richmond, VA area for the duration of the internship program.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills demonstrated through the ability to work with large data sets and extract meaningful conclusions. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for presenting findings and insights clearly. Capability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and contribute actively to various phases of data modeling, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
• Bonus: Practical experience or relevant coursework in data analytics or business intelligence. Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or SQL for building effective reports and dashboards. A keen and demonstrated interest in leveraging data to solve complex business challenges and enhance decision-making processes.
