SAIC is excited to offer challenging and rewarding Summer 2026 internship opportunities for college students dedicated to pursuing a major in business, analytics, or other related fields. These internships are designed to provide invaluable hands-on experience in the critical areas of business intelligence, data analysis, and process improvement, with a particular focus on IT environments.

Our program emphasizes comprehensive mentorship, structured training modules, and exposure to leadership-focused projects. This holistic approach is geared towards preparing interns for successful entry-level roles in business intelligence and data-driven decision-making within a dynamic professional setting.

This is a paid internship opportunity.

Business Intelligence Analyst Intern Responsibilities

Responsibilities for the Business Intelligence Analyst Intern may include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the collection, analysis, and visualization of business data to drive actionable insights and enhance decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with the team to design and implement innovative dashboards, comprehensive reports, and robust data-driven solutions.
  • Assist in the meticulous analysis and continuous improvement of business processes by leveraging cutting-edge Business Intelligence (BI) tools and methodologies.
  • Utilize and diligently maintain data acquisition, transformation, and reporting systems within a complex IT environment.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of Change Management processes to significantly enhance efficiency and ensure the seamless adoption of new data-driven tools and strategies.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a strong record of academic achievement, and an anticipated graduation in May of 2027.
  • Based on Federal Law, candidates must be a US citizen and possess the ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Must reside in the Richmond, VA area for the duration of the internship program.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Practical experience or relevant coursework in data analytics, business intelligence, or related fields.
  • Familiarity and practical experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or SQL for building effective reports and dashboards.
  • Strong analytical skills demonstrated through the ability to work with large data sets and extract meaningful, actionable conclusions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, crucial for presenting findings and insights clearly and effectively.
  • Capability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and contribute actively to various phases of data modeling, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
  • A keen and demonstrated interest in leveraging data to solve complex business challenges and significantly enhance decision-making processes.
