What You’ll Actually Do
• Instruct: Provide personalized, one-on-one online tutoring to individual graduate-level students in statistics.
• Deconstruct: Skillfully break down complex statistical concepts, including likelihood function derivations, posterior distribution calculations, and ANOVA decompositions.
• Guide: Lead students through designing experiments, performing multivariate analysis, constructing confidence regions, and implementing statistical models in software.
• Adapt: Customize instruction using R or Python statistical computing, research paper examples, and proof-based exercises to support masters and doctoral students.
• Explain: Clearly articulate advanced statistical theory, such as asymptotic theory, the Neyman-Pearson lemma, and generalized linear models.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Advanced subject mastery in statistics with a deep understanding of graduate-level concepts and their applications across quantitative disciplines.
• Experience: Proficiency in preparing students for research methodology and doctoral-level statistical analysis.
• Skills:
• Deep knowledge of mathematical statistics, maximum likelihood estimation, Bayesian inference, regression analysis, and multivariate methods.
• Ability to explain complex theoretical foundations, including asymptotic theory and the Neyman-Pearson lemma, using multiple approaches.
• Proficiency in using statistical computing software such as R or Python for model implementation and data analysis.
• Strong communication skills and an engaging teaching style, with the ability to adapt instruction to diverse learning needs and styles.
