Junior Automotive Technician | Boyd’s Tire & Service
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Boyd’s Tire & Service, a trusted provider of automotive products and services with locations across Central Ohio. The company delivers high-quality tires and reliable car repairs, committed to customer satisfaction and getting drivers back on the road safely since 1996. This Junior Automotive Technician role is critical for effectively and efficiently diagnosing and repairing customer vehicles, ensuring adherence to industry guidelines and company standards.

• Pay: $22–$27 hourly
• Mission: Effectively and efficiently diagnose and repair customer vehicles, adhering to MAP guidelines and all standards set by the dealership, manufacturers, and Boyd’s Tire.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Vehicle Diagnosis: Diagnose customer vehicles effectively and efficiently based on appropriate certification levels and experience.
• Repair Execution: Accurately and efficiently perform all work outlined on Multi-point Inspections and/or Repair Orders.
• Technical Communication: Clearly explain complex technical diagnoses and necessary repairs to store managers, service consultants, and customers.
• Service Recommendation: Recommend services essential for keeping the customer’s vehicle in optimal running condition and properly document all recommendations in the customer file.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures, report any concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager, and maintain appropriate ASE certifications.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career professional with either a minimum of one unexpired ASE certification or equivalent automotive experience or training.
• Experience: Possess a valid driver’s license or be able to obtain one within 30 days of hire, and pass an MVR screening and background check. Must be available to work a minimum of five days per week, including Saturdays.
• Skills: Proven ability in automotive diagnostics and repair, strong technical communication skills, adherence to MAP guidelines and all dealership, manufacturer, and company standards, and commitment to safety protocols.
• Bonus: Existing unexpired ASE certification.
