Junior Automotive Technician | Boyd’s Tire & Service

• Pay: $22–$27 hourly
• Team: Reports to Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• Mission: To effectively and efficiently diagnose and repair customer vehicles, adhering to established service and safety standards.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Vehicle Diagnosis: Accurately diagnose vehicles in line with your certified expertise and experience level, ensuring issues are identified correctly.
• Repair Execution: Perform all work efficiently and with precision, adhering to the specifications outlined in Multi-point Inspections and Repair Orders.
• Technical Communication: Clearly explain complex technical diagnoses and the necessity of repairs to non-mechanical individuals, including Store Managers, Service Consultants, and customers, fostering understanding and trust.
• Service Recommendation: Proactively recommend and meticulously document all services essential for maintaining the customer’s vehicle in optimal running condition within their file.
• Safety and Professionalism: Diligently follow all established safety procedures, promptly reporting any concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager, and actively maintain all required ASE certifications through renewal.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This role is for an early career automotive technician with foundational training or equivalent practical experience in vehicle repair and diagnostics, eager to grow within the automotive service industry.
• Experience: Candidates should preferably possess a minimum of one unexpired ASE certification, demonstrating a commitment to professional standards, or have equivalent proven experience and training in automotive service.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in accurately diagnosing vehicle issues, performing effective repairs, communicating complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences, and maintaining meticulous documentation of all service recommendations and work performed.
• Operational Requirements: Must hold a valid driver’s license or obtain one within 30 days of the hire date. The ability to work a minimum of five days per week, including Saturdays, is essential. Successful candidates will also pass an MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) screening and a comprehensive background check.
