The Tone:
This is a contract role at Alpha School, located on-site at campuses in Denver, CO, Atlanta, GA, Nashville, TN, Fort Worth, TX, Houston, TX, or Park City, UT. Alpha School is reimagining education by utilizing adaptive software and AI to accelerate student learning in core academics, freeing up time for critical life skill development. This Coach role is pivotal in guiding young people through essential life skills such as public speaking and concentration, beyond what technology can achieve. It embodies a philosophy that insists on 100% goal completion for students, recognizing that high standards demonstrate profound confidence in their abilities and foster genuine developmental impact.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Facilitate: Conduct one-hour, experiential life skill workshops for K-12 students on topics like public speaking, concentration, and time management.
• Motivate: Lead daily motivation sessions, engaging individual students, assessing their adaptive learning progress, and challenging them to achieve 100% of weekly targets.
• Assess: Organize and execute mastery-based assessments (Test2Pass) to verify students have genuinely acquired each skill.
• Guide: Cultivate authentic relationships with each student to build trust, guiding them through obstacles, distractions, and moments of uncertainty.
• Adapt: Monitor student performance against satisfaction and goal achievement metrics, modifying your coaching methods when outcomes need improvement.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in any field.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience working directly with K-8 students in roles such as teaching, coaching, counseling, or youth program leadership.
• Skills: Mentoring, Leading Meetings, Reporting & Analysis, Presentation Skills, Client Relations.
• Bonus: Background in youth development (athletic coaching, camp leadership); demonstrated history of personal excellence (academic distinctions, competitive athletics, or leadership positions); innate storytelling skill; success motivating disengaged or reluctant students.
