What You’ll Actually Do
• Instruct: Provide personalized 1-on-1 online instruction to individual students, covering New York State Regents examination content across subjects such as Algebra, Geometry, Living Environment, Earth Science, Chemistry, Physics, English Language Arts, US History, and Global History.
• Educate: Clearly explain exam-specific scoring rubrics, constructed response requirements, and the sixty-five point passing threshold to prepare students for graduation and advanced diploma achievements.
• Coach: Teach subject-specific Regents strategies, emphasizing effective reference table usage, precise constructed response formatting, and efficient multiple-choice elimination techniques.
• Develop: Guide students through interpreting Regents-style data tables, crafting well-structured document-based essays, solving complex laboratory-based questions, and managing time effectively across all exam parts.
• Optimize: Adapt instructional approaches using analysis of past Regents examinations, detailed scoring rubric reviews, and targeted content review to support high school students in achieving passing or mastery-level scores.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Deep knowledge of New York State Regents examination content across multiple subjects, including Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Living Environment, Earth Science, Chemistry, Physics, English Language Arts, US History, and Global History.
• Experience: Familiarity with New York State Regents curricula, common student challenges such as meeting constructed response requirements, interpreting reference tables, and bridging content gaps from earlier grade levels.
• Skills: Advanced test mastery of Regents content; ability to explain exam-specific scoring rubrics, constructed response requirements, and the sixty-five point passing threshold; strategic test-taking and problem-solving instruction including reference table usage and multiple-choice elimination techniques; skilled at guiding students through interpreting Regents-style data tables, writing document-based essays, and solving laboratory-based questions; curriculum awareness and adaptive instruction using past Regents examinations and scoring rubric analysis; effective teaching methods to identify struggling concepts and explain material using multiple approaches; strong communication and an engaging teaching style.
