Job Description

Aviation & Missile Solutions, LLC. (AMS) is actively seeking a highly skilled and talented Electrical or Computer Engineer to join our diverse team in Huntsville, AL. This role focuses on creating unique solutions for complex problems within the defense sector. AMS is a leader in providing responsive, cost-effective engineering and scientific solutions, specializing in areas such as air and missile defense technologies, command and control, radar systems, seekers, modeling & simulation, and prototype hardware development and testing.

Position Description

The Engineer or Analyst in this role will perform critical functions related to foreign threat systems analysis and modeling. Key responsibilities include:

  • All-source technical intelligence analysis of foreign threat systems, with a primary focus on multi-function phased-array radars and surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems. This involves comprehensive system performance assessments and design postulation of major subsystems, including but not limited to phased array antennas, transmitters and receivers, advanced radar signal processors, and computer algorithms/logic.
  • Threat system model development designed to accurately match intelligence assessments. This includes critical aspects such as waveform scheduling, correlation/tracking, and signal processing.
  • Preparation of technical briefings, papers, and reports to effectively communicate intelligence analysis and assessments of foreign threat systems to various stakeholders.
  • Ensuring accurate characterization and modeling of foreign threat systems in critical technical databases, such as the Electronic Warfare Integrated Reprogramming Database (EWIRDB).

Required Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Experience)

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to collaborate within a highly technical team of engineers and scientists.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to comfortably interact with and deliver presentations to customers, coworkers, and management on a regular basis.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • A graduating GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Preferred Skills/Abilities

  • Current resident of the Huntsville, AL area or willingness to relocate.
  • Software development skills, particularly in object-oriented programming principles, are preferred but not strictly required.

Travel Requirements

The successful candidate must be able to travel up to 10% of the year.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sustain prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Capable of lifting 30-40 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

Security Requirements

  • Citizenship: Candidate must be a US-only citizen.
  • Clearance Level: Must possess (and be able to maintain) a Final TOP SECRET/SSBI Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final TOP SECRET Clearance.
