Data Governance & Data Integrity Intern | Otsuka

The Tone:

This role is crucial for accelerating foundational data integrity initiatives, exposing interns to enterprise-level quality systems and regulatory-driven data practices within a life sciences environment. What You’ll Actually Do
• Support the current-state Data Governance and Data Integrity assessment across Global Quality pillars and GxP cross-functional areas.
• Develop an understanding of Global Quality (GQ) pillar services, GxP cross-functional areas, and data lifecycle management including classifications, ownership, and stewardship models.
• Gather, organize, and analyze information related to data lifecycle, data flows, data usage, and data governance practices from designated contacts.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Global Quality and other functions to document current-state capabilities and identify gaps.
• Apply consulting-style problem-solving approaches to identify opportunities for process improvement and maturity advancement.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate or graduate student nearing graduation (within 12-18 months) pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Foundational understanding of AI/ML, Gen AI, Agentic AI, and data analytics. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and commitment to the full internship duration.
• Skills: Consulting mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Bonus: Interest in data governance, data integrity, and quality systems within a regulated industry; ability to work independently while managing multiple inputs and priorities; eagerness to learn and ability to learn quickly; demonstration of teamwork and creative problem-solving.
