Engineer, Product Integration for Paisly

Position Summary:

The Engineer, Product Integration for Paisly is a pivotal role responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of connecting services and product integrations. This includes designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and improving these integrations to support the evolving landscape of travel products. The successful candidate will manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables while contributing significantly to the overall technology strategy. This role is crucial in enabling Paisly to become a digital disruptor in the travel industry. Collaboration is key, involving close partnerships with internal teams, matrix partners in JetBlue’s IT team, JetBlue Tech Ventures, and external business partners. The ideal candidate demonstrates adaptability, thriving on complex projects, and is highly motivated to deliver tangible results, even when priorities shift to meet dynamic business demands.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and manage business partner connectors and product integrations from their initial conception through to retirement.
  • Interpret and implement complex business logic using efficient algorithms, primarily leveraging Java, Python, and/or Go.
  • Write comprehensive unit tests with strong test coverage, and conduct thorough load tests and performance tests to ensure robustness.
  • Ensure the product integration team consistently delivers projects with high quality, predictability, and efficiency.
  • Cultivate and promote a work environment deeply focused on engineering excellence, aimed at attracting, developing, and fostering a culture of technical innovation.
  • Partner strategically with product management and engineering teams to collaboratively develop the product vision and roadmap.
  • Actively participate in the DevOps practice specifically as it pertains to product integration engineering, contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Help establish robust frameworks, design patterns, and integration patterns, and provide guidance on software development performed by business partners.
  • Assist in the management of a diverse collection of external technology products utilized to deliver business-critical products.
  • Collaborate with JetBlue Tech Ventures to identify, monitor, learn, experiment with, and share information regarding emerging technologies relevant to Paisly’s mission.
  • Perform other complex duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in technology roles.
  • Proven experience in writing software in one (1) or more languages such as Java, Python, and/or Go.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering environments and industry standards.
  • Strong understanding of internet technologies, protocols, and methodologies for delivering web-based products.
  • Experience managing Service Level Agreements (SLAs), interacting daily with people at different levels within the organization, including developing and maintaining ongoing relationships.
  • Available for overnight travel (10%).
  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Maintaining a public profile and building strong relationships throughout the organization.
  • Four (4) years’ experience in technology roles.
  • Experience architecting, developing software, or internet-scale production-grade solutions in virtualized environments such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Understanding of Agile and/or Lean methodologies.

Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice.
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft.
  • The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.
