Universal Banker I – United Community
United Community is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Universal Banker I. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional customer experiences and fostering financial wellness within our community. You will serve as a primary point of contact for customers, assisting with their everyday banking transactions while also engaging in meaningful, needs-based conversations to identify and provide tailored financial solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Proactive Sales Engagement: Drive needs-based sales conversations through various interactions, including transitioning service requests into sales opportunities, during teller transactions, and by setting appointments for deeper discussions.
- Product and Service Expertise: Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of all retail banking products and services offered by United Community.
- Relationship Building: Identify opportunities to enhance existing customer relationships and cultivate new ones by thoroughly understanding and addressing customers’ financial needs, always considering their unique perspectives and priorities.
- Loan Product Delivery: Assist customers with their financial needs by delivering appropriate loan products, ensuring all required packages are correct and complete to minimize exceptions and facilitate a smooth process.
- Cross-Selling and Referrals: Proactively identify opportunities to cross-sell banking products and services and make appropriate referrals to other specialized areas of the bank, maximizing customer benefit and bank growth.
- Technology Education: Educate customers on various options for managing their transactions efficiently using available technology, digital banking platforms, and other self-service tools and resources.
- Problem Solving: Apply extensive product and service knowledge to effectively diagnose and resolve customer problems and inquiries.
- Transaction Processing: Accurately and confidentially process deposits, withdrawals, and other routine banking transactions.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure strict adherence to all applicable banking regulations, internal policies, and procedural guidelines to maintain a secure and compliant banking environment.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of previous experience in banking, cash handling, or a retail customer service environment.
- Analytical Acumen: Demonstrated strong analytical, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely.
- Background Checks: Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check and a credit check.
- Work Arrangement: This is a full-time, non-remote position requiring on-site presence.
