Junior Network Technician Overview

As a Junior Network Technician, you will provide entry-level technical support for the installation, testing, and maintenance of network infrastructure. This role involves assisting senior technicians and engineers in deploying and sustaining physical and logical network components to enable secure, high-availability communications and IT services for mission-critical operations. Working within a multidisciplinary infrastructure team, you will contribute to structured cabling, hardware installations, connectivity troubleshooting, and equipment configuration across Inside Plant (ISP) and network operations environments.

Location: Schriever SFB

Contingency: This position is contingent upon successful contract award to V2X.

Clearance: This position requires an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret (Tier 3) level clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assists engineers and technicians with placement of infrastructure components and pre-configuration tasks.
• Performs physical labor at installation sites to support daily operations.
• Assists in the movement of equipment, racks, boxes, and pallets.
• Aids in cleanup and restoration of facilities to pre-installation conditions.
• Disposes of waste materials responsibly.
• Performs site preparation and implementation activities required for approved ISP / OSP solutions.
• Assists in the installation of ISP / OSP cabling, racks/cabinets, and equipment.
• Follows processes and procedures provided by management or lead engineers.
• Performs cable dressing, labeling, and documentation.
• Assists in restoration activities to return sites to their previous condition before project work.
• Tracks task status to provide updates to management or lead engineers.
• Work is performed under supervision.

Material & Equipment Directly Used

• General user capabilities with MS software applications (Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MS Teams, or SharePoint).
• Proficient with AutoCAD.

Working Environment

Office environment with potential to support austere locations.

Physical Activities

Must be able to lift / carry 75 lbs.

Qualifications

Education / Certifications

• High School Diploma

Experience / Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of experience performing as a Network Technician with a High School Diploma.
• Experience supporting DoD projects, specifically network modernization projects.

Clearance Requirement

• This position requires an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret (Tier 3) level clearance.

Skills & Technology Used

• General user capabilities with MS software applications (primarily Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and MS Teams or SharePoint).
• Proficient with AutoCAD.
