About the Role

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Junior Systems Administrator to join our team in Chantilly, VA. As the Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for providing a full range of Tier 1 IT support services and expertise to customer activities. You will play a key role in the management, optimization, and troubleshooting of our VMware virtualized environment and Active Directory infrastructure, ensuring seamless and reliable operations for the organization. You will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of client and server operations, including Windows Share and Folder permissions using Attribute Access Control (ABAC) and Role Based Access Control (RBAC), maintenance with Windows 10 and 11 environments and Windows Server 2016/2019, to include Active Directory, Domain Controllers, DNS, GPO’s, PKI, DHCP, VMware ver. 8, Backup Architectures, Storage Management, and Auditing.

Responsibilities Include, But Not Limited To

  • Hardware Deployment – Installation of new computer equipment, to include workstations, printers, peripherals, and Multi-Factor Authentication tokens.
  • Hardware Troubleshooting and Diagnostics – Ability to troubleshoot various hardware issues to determine cause and course of action to correct.
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software interface and interoperability issues.
  • System Administration – Conduct Tier 1 system administration duties utilizing a privileged administrator account.
  • Documentation of various hardware/software configurations.
  • Communicate with other team members.
  • Domestic Travel up to 25%.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or high school diploma/GED with 2 years of computer hardware/software experience.
  • Experience with installing Windows 10/11 operating systems.
  • Experience installing computer workstation and networking hardware such as RAM, NICs, hard drives, and network cabling.
  • Experience with installing applications on Windows 10/11 operating systems.
  • Knowledge of basic networking concepts.
  • Security + Certification (Active).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Service Desk ticketing system, such as Service Now or Remedy.
  • Network +, A+, or other IT-related certifications.
  • Experience with asset tracking.
  • Technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threats, and vulnerabilities.
  • Knowledge of incident response and handling methodologies.

Clearance Requirements

  • Must possess a current / active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
