Job Title: Cable/Data Center Technician

Our client is immediately seeking FORTY (40) Cable/Data Center Technicians for a large data center project in Lenoir, NC. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in the data center industry, as no prior cabling experience is needed!

Job Summary

This is a Contract-to-Hire position focused on learning and performing essential cabling tasks within a dynamic data center environment. Successful candidates will be trained on various aspects of cable installation, termination, and testing, contributing to the crucial infrastructure of a large data center. We are looking for dependable individuals willing to work hard and learn new skills.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Learn how to pull, dress, and label cabling following industry best practices.
• Begin RJ45 connector and patch panel terminations under guidance from experienced technicians.
• Assist in labeling and accurate cable identification processes.
• Learn and perform basic punch-downs for telecom blocks.
• Support cable testing using basic tools under direct supervision.
• Gain exposure to fiber cable dressing and basic handling techniques.
• Strictly follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment at all times.
• Consistently take direction from lead technicians and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and quality output.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• No cabling experience needed! We are actively seeking candidates with physical labor experience of any kind, including: construction, landscaping, roofing, drywall, stocking, or similar roles.
• Must be willing to work 6 days per week.
• Must be willing to work a typical 60-hour work week.
• Must submit to compliance testing.
• Reliable transportation and dependability are essential.

Pay Rate Structure

The pay rate is competitive and dependent on your experience level:

• Physical labor experience only (no cabling experience): $23-$25 per hour, depending on experience.
• 3 months to 2 years of cabling or data center experience: $26 per hour.
• 2+ years of cabling or data center experience: $28-$30 per hour.

Note: Overtime will be paid at time and a half for hours worked over 40 per week.

The overall pay range for this position is stated as $26.00 – $30.00/hr.

Schedule

• Work Days: Monday – Saturday
• Shift Times: 6am-5pm (1st shift) and 2nd Shift available.
• Hours: Typical work week is 60 hours. Overtime (OT) and Saturday work are required.

Location

The primary work location for job duties is a large data center in Lenoir, NC. This is a fully onsite position.
