Safety Communications & Multimedia Summer Intern

Join the Stone Division Safety Team as a Safety Communications & Multimedia Summer Intern and play a pivotal role in modernizing safety training content and leading high-impact safety engagement initiatives. This unique internship offers a blend of safety, marketing, and multimedia storytelling, challenging you to translate complex industrial procedures into engaging, visual-first communications that directly support frontline teams.

This is a project-based, 12-week onsite internship located at our Dallas Corporate office, with regular time spent in the warehouse/fabrication environment. This is not a remote role.

The selected intern will present project outcomes at our annual Intern Expo Day on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

Program Details

  • Program Dates: Monday, May 18, 2026 – Friday, August 7, 2026
  • Length: 12 Weeks
  • Schedule: Full-time, hourly
  • Required: Must be available for the full program duration and attend/present at Intern Expo Day

Project Scope & Responsibilities

The intern will lead and support the following key initiatives:

1. Multimedia Training Modernization

  • Transform outdated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) into modern, visual-first safety content.
  • Script, film, and edit engaging short-form “How-To” training videos for various safety procedures.
  • Design high-impact infographics specifically focused on high-risk tasks, including overhead crane and forklift operations.
  • Build and organize a digital-first safety content library accessible for all warehouse teams.

2. Heat Awareness Campaign Execution (Summer 2026)

  • Lead the comprehensive rollout of the critical “Heat Safety” initiative during the summer months.
  • Design effective visual cues, Quick Tip posters, and prominent hydration reminders for the workplace.
  • Develop clear and concise safety messaging to help teams identify early signs of heat exhaustion and promote preventative measures.
  • Provide crucial support to maintain safety performance and compliance during high-temperature months.

3. Certification Program Refinement & Credentialing

  • Audit existing processes and streamline the forklift and overhead crane certification programs to enhance efficiency and clarity.
  • Ensure absolute consistency and 100% compliance across all operational certification procedures.
  • Design and implement a tangible Certified Operator credential card system to visually recognize qualified personnel.
  • Elevate the visibility and professionalism of safety expertise on-site through improved recognition systems.

4. 2027 Safety Recognition Program Design

  • Research industry best practices and architect the comprehensive framework for a new 2027 Safety Champion program.
  • Define clear recognition criteria and develop appealing reward structures to motivate safe behavior.
  • Develop comprehensive branding and a strategic launch framework for the new program.
  • Prepare a detailed budget proposal aligned with corporate safety goals and industry best practices.

  • Direct Contribution to Health & Safety: Directly impact the health and safety of warehouse team members through effective communication and programs.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Communications, Multimedia Design, or a related creative field.
  • Incoming junior or senior preferred.
  • Proficiency in video editing tools (e.g., Clipchamp, CapCut, or similar platforms).
  • Proficiency in graphic design platforms (e.g., Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar).
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse or fabrication environment and consistently wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Prior experience in warehouse, construction, or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong ability to translate complex technical information into simple, clear, and visual communication.
