AI Trainer – Junior Linguist | Mindrift

The Tone:
This is a contract role at Mindrift, located remotely. As an AI Trainer – Junior Linguist, you will shape how AI models understand and generate human-like text. Your work is critical to teaching AI reasoning, logic accuracy, nuance, and clarity.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Crafting: Craft original, clear, and fact-checked responses following project guidelines, specifically creating text that teaches AI reasoning, logic accuracy, nuance, and clarity.
• Prompt Generation: Generate prompts designed to effectively challenge AI models and assess their capabilities in understanding and generating human-like text.
• Evaluation Criteria: Define comprehensive scoring criteria to accurately evaluate the AI’s answers, focusing on their adherence to logic, nuance, and clarity.
• Quality Assurance: Follow rigorous style and quality standards to ensure consistency across all contributions, maintaining high levels of accuracy and clarity in AI training data.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Translation Studies, Literature, or any related field, ensuring a robust understanding of grammar and stylistic features vital for shaping AI’s language comprehension. This role is suited for individuals at an Early Career stage.
• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of professional experience in fields such as Linguistics, Research in Computational Linguistics, or Translation Projects, demonstrating strong critical thinking abilities and proven expertise in working extensively with text in the English language.
• Skills: Strong written English proficiency (C1/C2 level) is essential for crafting high-quality training data, coupled with critical thinking skills to evaluate and improve AI responses, and a stable internet connection for remote project participation.
