The Tone:
This is an internship at CNO Financial Group, available as a fully remote position from any US location or with hybrid options for students near our Carmel, IN or Chicago corporate offices. CNO provides life and health insurance, annuities, financial services, and workforce benefits solutions, helping customers protect their health, income, and retirement needs. This role offers college students practical, hands-on development experience in IT within a public insurance company, bringing fresh perspectives to existing challenges. Interns contribute important work while gaining exposure to the financial industry and CNO’s mission of creating security and stability for its customers.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Engage: Collaborate with Business and IT stakeholders to understand needs and requirements.
• Automate: Update, modify, develop, and automate various data reports.
• Test: Perform tests on data systems to ensure functionality and integrity.
• Gather: Collect requirements for data transformation, integration, and quality processes.
• Investigate: Analyze data anomalies and communicate findings to data stewards and owners.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Progress towards a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Software Development, Software Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or any information systems related discipline. Applicants must be currently enrolled students with junior or senior status, anticipating graduation between December 2026 and December 2028, and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
• Experience: Proficient understanding and functional knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, SQL, HTML, CSS, C#, and Perl. Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook is also required.
• Skills: Ability to work independently and as a motivated team player, demonstrating strong organizational skills to prioritize work and seek direction as appropriate. Candidates must possess good interpersonal and consultative skills, alongside strong written and verbal communication abilities.
