Residential Combination Building Inspector – Pasco County | SAFEbuilt

What You’ll Actually Do
• Conduct inspections: Perform daily field inspections of residential, commercial, and public facility construction projects.
• Communicate technical information: Interact with the public, effectively explaining technical information to both technical and non-technical individuals.
• Review plans and engineering calculations: Examine residential and commercial plans and engineering calculations for building components to ensure code compliance.
• Maintain inspection records: Keep accurate records to document inspections, test results, and other pertinent details.
• Log inspection results: Accurately enter inspection results into permitting software, maintaining computer logs.
The Must-Haves
• Background: DBPR State of FL Inspector Licensing – Residential and Building is required. This is a mid-career role requiring extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures/technology.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience interpreting codes in the field and providing code-compliant solutions.
• Skills: Strong verbal and written communication, good time management, organization, attention to detail, and independent judgment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and commitment to staying current with International Building Codes are also essential.
• Bonus: ICC Inspector certifications in multiple trades preferred.
