What You’ll Actually Do
• Deliver: Provide culturally sensitive, in-home services focused on reunifying families or maintaining children safely within their homes.
• Coach: Offer expert-level coaching to empower families with essential communication, parenting, and problem-solving strategies.
• Advocate: Act as a compassionate advocate for families by connecting them with vital community resources, schools, and partner agencies.
• Plan & Document: Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop personalized intervention plans, and ensure meticulous and timely documentation of all efforts.
• Collaborate & Certify: Lead critical family team meetings, collaborate effectively with DHS and other community partners, and utilize the SafeCare Model to teach practical skills for health, safety, and planned activities, leading to National SafeCare Home Visitor certification.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in a related human services field. This role is considered an Early Career Level II position.
• Experience: Requires a minimum of one year of experience in a related practice setting. Must obtain and maintain CPR, First Aid, and Therapeutic Options certifications within 30 days of employment. All NorthCare Training must be completed within 30 days, and a TB test is required within 12 months prior to or 30 days after employment.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word processing software and intermediate general computer skills are essential. Requires excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and verbally with English-speaking patients. Must possess strong written and oral communication skills, a high degree of flexibility, efficiency, and critical thinking to manage community-based situations independently.
• Bonus: Must have access to reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and current automobile liability insurance (including uninsured motorist coverage), with “business purposes” added to the policy. Requires a personal cell phone for work-related calls (responding within 60 minutes) and daily email response. Access to an internet hotspot is necessary for field work, with eligibility for phone and hotspot stipends. Community-based staff are considered essential workers and may be required to work holidays, weekends, or during closures. Candidates and employees must report any current or prior confirmed record of child abuse for review.
