Junior Software Developer

Job Description
Alaska Northstar Resources (ANR) is actively seeking a Junior Software Developer to join our dedicated development team. This vital role is primarily focused on the development and implementation of updates to existing software. The ideal candidate will possess a foundational understanding of web-site development and will be responsible for coding new applications, effectively troubleshooting technical issues, and debugging their own code to ensure high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement updates for existing software applications.
- Code new applications and features based on project requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues.
- Debug code to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
- Collaborate with the development team on various projects.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following mandatory requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
- At least 1 year of experience with the following technologies:
- HTML/CSS and JavaScript development
- AWS or other cloud experience
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Candidates with the following skills and experience will be highly regarded:
- Ability to provide technical support and recommend technical solutions to the government in support of initiatives.
- Adobe ColdFusion development experience.
- CompTIA Security+ or other IAT Level II certification.
- Experience with:
- Department of Defense (DoD) Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG).
- Application of Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) and Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) program.
Work Environment
This position operates within a professional office environment. It requires the ability to provide clear, concise, accurate, and timely communication, both verbally and in writing (100% of the time). The role also demands the ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management, and clients (100% of the time). Occasional business travel may be required, with only requested and approved expenses covered by ANR.
Other Essential Functions
The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make rational decisions, and exercise good judgment is essential (100% of the time). Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
