ArcBest is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Intelligence Intern to join our team. This temporary, hourly position offers an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic field of business intelligence within a multibillion-dollar integrated logistics company.

As a Business Intelligence Intern, you will play a crucial role in empowering ArcBest and its subsidiaries to make informed business decisions and shape strategic direction. You will be responsible for the completion of descriptive analytical reports and dashboards, tackling a wide and ever-changing variety of subjects across all areas of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Requirements Analysis & Design: Analyze user requirements, design functional specifications for BI solutions, and estimate the effort needed for project completion. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to meticulously document user requirements for data, dashboards, and reports.
• Solution Development & Deployment: Design, develop, deploy, and thoroughly document enterprise business intelligence solutions. This includes leveraging common data architecture and implementing data optimization approaches to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
• Testing & Performance Improvement: Proactively test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and continuously improve the performance of business intelligence artifacts, ensuring high quality and reliability.
• Collaboration & Support: Collaborate effectively with and provide support to business analysts across the enterprise, sharing best practice analytics strategies and techniques to foster a data-driven culture.
• Special Projects & Training: Actively participate in special projects, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn new challenges. Take full advantage of offered training opportunities, including assigned trainers, self-study modules, and formal courses, to continuously enhance your skills.
• Ad-hoc Duties: Complete other duties and projects as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive approach to supporting team objectives.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Analytics or a closely related field.

Experience:

• Prior experience or coursework in data modeling, requirements analysis, business analysis, data storytelling, and visualization is preferred, demonstrating foundational knowledge in key BI areas.

Computer Skills:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, SQL, and Power BI is required.

Additional Requirements:

• Knowledge of relational and multidimensional database designs, warehousing processes and designs, various business intelligence platforms, and software development technologies (Visual Studio preferred).

Other Details:

• Work Hours: This is a temporary intern position. The typical work schedule will be between 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, with occasional irregular hours depending on project workload and deadlines.
• Travel Requirements: Minimal travel (0%-25%) may be required.
• Compensation: This is an hourly position, with payments issued biweekly.
