Role Summary
The Graduate Electrical Engineer will serve as a designer on construction documents for electrical systems across a diverse range of markets. These markets include, but are not limited to, multifamily, commercial, high-rise, hospitality, and EV Fleet projects. This role reports directly to the Electrical Team Leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team of engineers and designers to utilize architectural plans and base files for the production of high-quality engineering construction documents in Revit.
- Under the limited supervision of Engineers and Project Engineers, design electrical systems, which includes equipment sizing, energy lighting calculations, and circuit diagrams for various project types such as high-rise, multifamily, commercial, and technology.
- Perform critical calculations including electrical load analysis, lighting energy use, voltage drop, and fault analysis.
- Provide reviews of submittals and preliminary reviews of requests for information (RFIs).
- Independently conduct preliminary site investigations and construction progress site visits.
- Maintain strong working relationships with manufacturers and technical representatives for electrical equipment to support equipment specifications and design.
- Participate in internal production meetings with Engineers and Project Managers, as well as external design meetings with clients or city officials when necessary.
- Contribute to the development of automation and visualization strategies.
- Keep Project Engineers, Team Leaders, and Project Managers informed of progress on assigned projects.
- Attend industry events and actively participate in the community, fostering relationships and creating content.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) license obtained within the first year in the role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in the field of new building mechanical engineering construction.
- Proficiency in Revit.
- Prior experience or knowledge of coding and/or machine learning technologies is a plus.
