Finance Intern | Turner
The Tone:
This is a seasonal internship at Turner, located in Boston, MA. Turner is a construction company that focuses on building and delivering complex projects across various divisions. This role provides essential financial services support to profit centers, ensuring accurate accounting and compliance for project operations. This intern will help maintain financial integrity and efficiency crucial for the success of construction projects.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Billing Support: Assist in ensuring client contractual requirements are met regarding billing and accounts receivables.
• Invoice Processing: Process accounts payable for vendor and subcontractor invoices, verifying that all applicable lien waivers, contracts, and insurance requirements are in place.
• Month-End Close Assistance: Support the monthly close process by ensuring client bills and project costs are accurately posted or accrued when work is complete and of material value.
• Audit Preparation: Assist with internal and external audit requests by compiling and providing necessary financial documentation.
• Payment Application Support: Help prepare Turner owner applications for payment by assisting with the compilation of all supporting invoice backup.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrolled in an accredited 4-year college or university program, with at least one year of education completed, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience: Basic understanding of finance or accounting principles, gained through academic study or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
• Skills: Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, strong computer data entry and database skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and professional verbal and written communication.
• Bonus: Demonstrated interpersonal skills through student leadership, volunteerism, or other community involvement, alongside an enthusiastic, proactive, and adaptable approach to new projects.
