Information Systems Intern

Virtua Health is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Information Systems Intern to provide crucial front-line support for IS customer incidents, requests, and problems. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience within a leading health system, collaborating with various IS teams and delivering a high level of technical expertise and customer service.

Location & Hours

Location: 301 Lippincott

Hours/Week: 15-25 hours/week

Role Overview & Responsibilities (Specific to IS Role)

As an IS Intern, you will be an integral part of our Information Systems team, providing direct support to our customers. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Provide front-line service for all IS customer incidents, requests, or problems, ensuring efficient resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate effectively with other IS teams, escalating incidents as needed to appropriate departments for advanced support.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and technical expertise, representing Virtua with professionalism and competence.

Education Requirement (Specific to IS Role)

In addition to the general internship program requirements, candidates for this specific IS Intern role must meet the following educational criteria:

  • Currently enrolled or a recent graduate (less than one year) of an Information Technology or related field program.

These assignments are carefully aligned with the intern’s specific interests and the strategic needs of their administrative sponsor, fostering a mutually beneficial learning and working environment.

General Internship Program Responsibilities

All interns participating in the Virtua Internship Program are expected to fulfill the following general responsibilities:

  • Take direction from an administrative sponsor on duties to perform during the duration of the internship. Duties must be commensurate with the intern’s experience and level of understanding.
  • Complete all assigned tasks in a timely manner while consistently exhibiting the Virtua STAR qualities (Service, Teamwork, Attitude, Respect).
  • Convey a positive attitude and demonstrate self-motivation throughout the internship period.
  • Shadow a Virtua employee according to the direction of the administrative sponsor to gain further insight into day-to-day operations.
  • Complete and present a final report as directed by the administrative sponsor prior to the completion of the internship.

General Internship Program Qualifications & Education

Candidates for the Virtua Internship Program must meet the following general qualifications and educational requirements:

  • Experience Required: Interns must provide a resume and a statement of objective/learning goals prior to the start of the internship.
  • Required Education: Interns can be currently matriculating high school, undergraduate, or graduate students, or recent graduates (less than one year from graduation).
